
Manderson Man Indicted for Assault

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Manderson man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for hitting a woman in the head with a metal object, causing a severe laceration. Eric Kills Enemy at Night, a/k/a Eric Kills Enemy, age 18, was indicted by a federal grand jury on June 19, 2012, for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury. He appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy on June 22, 2012, and pleaded not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years' imprisonment and/or a $250,000 fine. The charges are merely accusations, and Kills Enemy at Night is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The investigation is being conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah B. Collins is prosecuting the case. Kills Enemy at Night was released on bond pending trial. A trial date has not yet been set. |
